We are proud to bring the cult legend comedian Ron Lynch to the Cave in his first San Francisco performance in more than five years!
Ron Lynch was part of the Boston comedy scene back in the ’80s that spawned such comics as Steven Wright, Paula Poundstone, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Marc Maron. He’s been making a living at it ever since in New York, San Francisco, and now Los Angeles where he keeps his hat.
Lynch is widely revered among comedians for his experimental approach. Rarely is there a structured joke or a contemporary observation in his act. Some of the characters in his repertoire include a silent magician who does no actual tricks, a demented hypnotist who is just twirling produce bags on the end of old antennae, and an animatronic comic.
Besides stand-up, Lynch has added his voice to such cartoons as Dr. Katz, Home Movies (Mr. Lynch), Tom Goes to the Mayor, Adventure Time, and Bob’s Burgers. Among his other television credits are Conan, Happy Endings, Raising Dad, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, and playing all the doctors on The Sarah Silverman Program.
His movie credits include Smashed, Five Year Engagement, Murder in the First, several independents, and many short movies (including a few produced with Louis C.K.). His commercial credits include a Burger King commercial where he was a Meat Mathematician (proof that his Geology degree is paying off).
He plays drums in two bands (both mostly comics), still hasn’t done his taxes, and has produced and hosted the successful variety show, “Tomorrow!” every Saturday for the past seven years.
